The fixed fee we quote is the fee you pay. There will be no nasty surprises.

Universal Credit is a UK welfare benefit designed to streamline the social security system by combining six benefits into a single monthly payment, supporting low-income or unemployed individuals.

Typically, you’ll receive a single monthly payment to help with your living costs. If you and your partner claim Universal Credit together, you’ll get one payment between the two of you.

This payment includes a basic ‘standard allowance’ plus any extra amounts based on your circumstances. Whether you’re not working or have a low income, Universal Credit might be available to support you.

  • You must be 18 years old or over – or in some cases 16 or 17
  • You must be  under the State Pension age
  • You must be living in the UK – there are extra rules that apply if you’re not a British citizen
  • You must usually have less than £16,000 in savings or other investments – often referred to as ‘capital’. Capital doesn’t include your pension pot or the value of the home you live in.

You could qualify for extra payments if:

  • You’re a caregiver for a disabled individual or have a disabled child
  • You look after one or more children
  • You’re employed and pay for childcare
  • You require assistance with housing costs
  • You have a disability or other health conditions

You’ll usually need to apply for Universal Credit online. The first step is setting up an online account, which you’ll use to manage your claim. You can also contact the DWP by phone or use their online chat for assistance.

In some cases, you may be able to apply over the phone if you have special circumstances.

We can assist you with several stages of your Universal Credit application. We can help you fill out your application form over the phone or prepare you for your initial Job Centre appointment. Our team can also assess whether you qualify for Universal Credit.
